Even though outdoor BBQ grills are wonderful appliances, you don’t necessarily need one in order to cook up some mouth watering barbeque. Of course it’s great to grill a fine cut of meat in the open air, but you certainly don’t want to do so indoors. It’s a fact that grilling in an enclosed space such as your apartment is a bad idea. The carbon monoxide, smoke and toxins that are produced during the BBQ process can make you very sick, and potentially kill you.
Besides, you don’t want the smoke coming out from your grill to trip the fire alarms in your building. That would certainly be embarrassing not to mention a potential reason for you to be evicted from your apartment. So to help you enjoy barbeque at home without a grill, try these easy tips.
You need to have the right kind of meat to make delicious barbeque. If your preference is for ribs, make sure you get the best ribs available at your local meat store. On the other hand, if you love chicken, get the freshest chicken you can find. Organically grown chicken is better than factory raised birds. You might not know it but those commercially grown chickens are exposed to a lot of chemicals and antibiotics which can be very harmful to the body. On the other hand, organically grown chicken are free from harmful chemicals and contaminants. Of course, organically grown chicken is somewhat more expensive than those commercially grown hens but if you value your health, you’ll simply have to fork over a few more dollars to get the best bird for your barbeque.
Once you have your meat ready, rub some seasoning salt on it. You can use plain salt and pepper, your own special recipe or one of those pre-mixed seasonings. Sprinkle the seasoning liberally over all surfaces of the meat and gently work it in with your hands. Then place the meat in a roasting pan. Then pour a bottle of barbeque sauce over the meat. Turn the meat a few times to make sure it’s well coated. Then put the roasting pan filled with meat and barbecue sauce into the oven. Cook it for a couple of hours at a low temperature. The result will be melt in your mouth barbeque cooking without the need for a grill.
